Solid Advice

April 30th, 2015

I am late on the keyboard today, as I am still adjusting to a new daily routine and trying to jam 30 hours of stuff into a 24 hour day right now. Anyway, I was reminded this morning  of these great thoughts when I was working to correct some guys I work with without making too much of a hassle about it. I am not sure why I am surprised, but things work out so much better when you take the advice of the creator of the World!

2 Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.
Ephesians 4:2 (NLT)

Straight Gaze

April 29th, 2015

I have only a simple thought this morning, simple but powerful.

Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Proverbs 4:25

Let us strive to stay focused on the goal and keep ourselves from picking up ‘stray kittens’ along the way that keep us from the goal. This is so much easy said then done!!!

At Your Word

April 27th, 2015

Simon answered, “Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing! But at your word I will lower the nets. Luke 5:5

And you know what happened next!  Let’s cast our own plans aside today and respond to the words of the Christ.   Let those words create actions that will fill your boat!

Stay Focused

April 24th, 2015

Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules.  – 2 tim 2

I read this earlier in the week and I thought the whole idea of not getting caught up in things that do not help your purpose and serve your master was very interesting.  Who are you pleasing on this Spring Friday!

Earth Day 2015

April 22nd, 2015

Yeah, it’s Earth Day!  Let’s not forget that this is God’s piece of dirt that we spend our days on, and that he has entrusted us to look after it with vigor!

26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27 So God created mankind in his own image,
    in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number;fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.

Genesis 1:26-29 (NIV)
